SISI LI’S JOURNEY FROM HONG KONG TO FOUNDING NELLS NELSON

Overcoming dyslexia, she moved to the U.S. at 17 with her mother, first settling in Kansas City, before relocating to New York City driven by ambition and a one-way ticket. In New York, her pursuit of education was interrupted by the need to earn a living, leading her to work in restaurants. One winter, after a long shift, she walked through a snowstorm, thinking, "This isn't the life I dreamt of, but it’s a step closer to where I need to be.”

Her determination eventually led her to a production assistant job at a fashion company, marking the start of her rise in the industry. A defining moment came when her designs caught the eye of Asian celebrity Alex To, leading to her role as the lead designer for a Warner Brothers concert. Collaborating with Andrew Rosen to establish the contemporary label IISLI. Sisi refined her business acumen while staying true to her creative vision.

Moving to Italy marked a period of significant artistic growth. Immersed in unparalleled craftsmanship, she built strong relationships with world renowned mills to create exclusive materials. Nells Nelson, crafted from cxquisite fabrics with meticulous design details, goes beyond the ordinary, offering joy and the freedom to move effortlessly.

Nells Nelson is inspired by and produced along the Adriatic coast La Marche region in Italy. The place is raw and poetic, with majestic rolling hills and breathtaking scenery. People are highly skilled and knowledgeable with their hands, staying truthful and loyal to their craftsmanship. All materials are carefully selected from the finest mills that are specialized in their field. Nells Nelson is named after Sisi's son and husband. "They are constant reminder to stay true to myself and do the best."
